We have started a new bike building project. The platform is a Yamaha xs650. The project was started in late January and we will be uploading pictures and information as the project progresses. The bike going to be a street tracker. There will be many modificationf to the frame to lighten and improve the way it looks.

Here is the bike. It had been stored outdoors. Pictured before and after teardown.

Here we have cut the frame and placed it in the fixture for more cutting and fit up.

Here I have replaced the stearing neck with a neck that will receive the GSXR front end. The engine was installed to add a new down tube and front motor mount.

New gussets and motor mount.

Cutting more old tubing from the tail section

Bending the new tail section, 2 compound bends
Here is the new tubing section being fit for welding.

New section welded in place. There will be gussets for strength, and shock mounts.

This will be a nice platform for a custom made seat cowling. The cowling wil be made from aluminum.

You can see the weight that has been removed from this frame and the look will be slick. More photos very soon. 2/16/10

Machining the swingarm to accept the 3/4" axle.

Rolling chassis, still lots of work to do. Better camera though
